Singer-songwriter John Craigie and Bay Area string band The Brothers Comatose joined forces to reimagine Don Henley's “The Boys Of Summer.” A video featuring the intimate performance of the cover has been shared and can be viewed below.
Don Henley teamed with Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers to write “The Boys Of Summer.” The song was released in October of 1984 as the lead single from Henley’s album Building The Perfect Beast.

Craigie and The Brothers Comatose were accompanied on the Don Henley cover by Laurie Shook (Shook Twins) on backing vocals and a banana-shaped percussive instrument. The seven musicians gathered on the outdoor stairway of a building at the Mountain Village Resort in Stanley, Idaho to perform “The Boys Of Summer.”
John Craigie sang lead with BroCo’s Ben Morrison on acoustic guitar, Philip Brezina on fiddle, Addison Levy on mandolin and Steve Height on upright bass. Craigie also played acoustic guitar.
