The kids proved to be alright at Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s concert Saturday at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut. The event was a family affair with drummer Joe Russo’s daughters and keyboardist Marco Benevento’s daughters joining the band onstage during the show.

During the first set, Russo’s two young daughters emerged and stood beside guitarist Scott Metzger. The girls held Loog guitars while guitarist Tom Hamilton led JRAD’s debut cover of The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun.”

Benevento’s daughters, Ila Benevento and Ruby Benevento joined their dad and his bandmates in the second set while the Grateful Dead’s “Fire On The Mountain” was being performed. The three Benevento heads bobbed in unison while Illa and Ruby played their dad’s piano.

“It’s daughter night here at JRAD Industries,” Russo said at the end of “Fire,” adding, “Big hand for Ruby and Illa Benevento. Feeling like Father’s Day even on Mother’s Day – we’re just lucky to be here. Happy early Mother’s Day!”
