Joan Baez Announces Final Formal North American Tour

Famed vocalist and activist Joan Baez has announced what she’s calling her “final formal North American Tour.” The run is currently scheduled to run from September 11 and November 17. Baez’s new studio album, Whistle Down The Wind is due on March 2. A CD or digital download of the LP is included with every ticket purchased.

“I’m looking forward to being on the road with a beautiful new album of which I am truly proud,” said Baez. “I welcome the opportunity to share this new music as well as longtime favorites with my audiences around the world.” Whistle Down The Wind features songs written by Tom Waits, Anohni, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Josh Ritter and more. The tour begins at the State Theatre in Ithaca on September 11. Other Northeast performances to start the run include stops in New Haven, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, New York City, Red Bank, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Baez continues the tour with visits to Durham, Nashville, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis and Denver. The tour is currently slated to end with a West Coast swing that will feature Joan Baez concerts in Santa Fe, Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Eureka, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Oakland.

Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, March 2.
