Jin returned to 30 Rock on Wednesday for an eventful appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The South Korean singer tried his hand at hosting, discussed reuniting with his BTS bandmates and his upcoming solo tour before delivering a dazzling performance of “Don’t Say You Love Me” on top of a big bed.

Jimmy Fallon brought up Jin’s successful YouTube program Run Jin. “Would you ever host a variety show like this?” Fallon asked. “I think you’d be good at it.”

“Not at all,” Jin replied. “But should I do it?” Jin then traded seats with Jimmy and asked Fallon a few questions.

BTS has been on hiatus since 2022 to allow time for each of the members to serve in the South Korean military. While Jin and J-Hope previously finished their service, BTS’ RM, V, Jimin, Junghook and Suga will each be discharged in June.

“It was great to be alone. But when they come back since they worked very hard, I’m going to honor them and give them great respect,” Jin explained to Fallon. “They are my lifesavers, so I need to show my appreciation and take care of them.”

Jin’s #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR comes to America in July. “You can expect my good, I mean, my ‘not so bad’ vocals but on top of that, you can look forward to seeing my handsome face up close. Just joke, joke,” he said regarding the trek. “…I had the tour in mind as I was making the album, so I ended up with a lot more energetic songs.”

The album Jin referred to is his debut solo record, Happy, which arrived in November. A follow-up EP, Echo, was released last Friday, May 16. “Don’t Say You Love Me” is featured on Echo.
