As reported guitarist Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic and Aquarium Rescue Unit fame will bring his new band dubbed Jimmy Herring and The Invisible Whip on the road for the first time this summer. Since our initial post a handful of shows have been added bringing the current total to 22 concerts between July and September.

The tour begins at Minglewood Hall in Memphis on July 19. From there, Jimmy Herring brings the band to Jackson, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama; Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Georgia cities of Atlanta, Athens and Macon ahead of stops in the North Carolina cities of Asheville and Charlotte to end July. The group’s early August dates include visits to Louisville, Columbus, Kent, Pittsburgh and Roanoke. Herring & The Invisible Whip return to the road on August 31 in San Antonio and conclude the tour with early September dates in Dallas, St. Louis and the Colorado cities of Englewood and Boulder.

Jimmy Herring will be joined by his longtime Aquarium Rescue Unit band mate Jeff Sipe (a.k.a. Apt-Q258) on drums, multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, Kevin Scott on bass and Matt Slocum on keyboards in The Invisible Whip. Later in the year Jimmy will bring the group of The Meeting Of The Spirits Tour with John McLaughlin.
