Veteran singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale will issue his 37th album, My Favorite Place, on June 21. The album features the newly released single, “Mrs. Green.”

Among those backing Lauderdale on My Favorite Place are members of his touring band The Game Changers, which includes guitarists Craig Smith and Frank Rische, bassist Jay Weaver, drummer Dave Racine and vocalist Lillie Mae Rische. Produced by Lauderdale and Weaver, the 11-track album was recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio and features the previously shared single, “You’ve Got A Shine.”

Described as “a mid-tempo, finger-picked message of encouragement from a potential suitor to a woman hanging onto the end of another relationship,” the latest single, “Mrs. Green,” was co-written by Lauderdale and Bob Minner.

“I’m grateful to Bob Minner for our collaboration on ‘Mrs. Green,’ which tells the story of a woman in a situation she must get out of and the yearning and love of the one who wants to be with her and share a better life,” Lauderdale stated. “This story, with these characters, is unlike anything I’ve been a part of before.”
