Jim James Guests With War On Drugs In Portland

The War On Drugs performed at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR last night; where My Morning Jacket front man Jim James helped out on the first song of the Philadelphia-based band’s encore.

All of My Morning Jacket was in attendance at last night’s show. James emerged at the beginning of the encore to share vocals on a cover of John Lennon’s “Mind Games.” Jim told fans at the show the band was in town to record a new album. Watch fan-shot video of “Mind Games” by Pokeadoubledecker:

In other My Morning Jacket news, the band will release the second installment of their live archive series tomorrow. A recording of MMJ’s October 3, 2008 performance at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee is currently available for pre-order.
