Jim James, Chris Thile & More Aboard For 2nd New York Guitar Festival Reverend Gary Davis Tribute

The New York Guitar Festival announced Set 2 of its 2020 online performance series, Reverend Gary Davis: In Search of the Harlem Street Singer. Jim James, Chris Thile and more will perform for the online event taking place July 13 – 19 beginning at 4 p.m. ET each day via the NYGF’s YouTube channel or right here on the JamBase Livestreams Calendar.
Reverend Gary Davis’ music can be found in the catalogs of some of rocks biggest bands and artists including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead. The weeklong event honoring the highly influential artist kicks off on Monday, July 13 with a discourse from DJ Spooky followed by country blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Jontavious Willis on July 14. Thile and James’ sets will air July 15 and 16 respectively ahead of a performance from Reverend Gary Davis student and renowned session musician Dave Bromberg. A set from blues duo Piedmont Blūz will air on Saturday, July 18 with Sunday’s performer TBA.
