Singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis performed last night in Nashville at The Basement East. The show featured Jason Crosby as a newly added member of Lewis’ touring band.
Crosby wrote on Instagram he was “excited to start touring with my new friend” as a comment on a picture of the multi-instrumentalist with Lewis in Nashville. It’s unclear how long Crosby’s stint with Lewis will last, the latter has shows tonight in Pittsburgh and tomorrow in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Lewis also plays Mountain Jam in Hunter, New York on Friday and in New Haven, Connecticut on Saturday. Her tour then resumes in July.
Along with a batch of new originals, last night’s show saw Lewis pulling from her 2014 solo album Voyager and 2008 predecessor Acid Tongue, as well as several selections from her 2006 joint release with The Watson Twins. The final song of the evening was “Acid Tongue” and featured The Watson Twins and Nikki Lane joining the band on the sing-along finale.
