Jeff Tweedy Covers Plastic Bertrand In Belgium

A common occurrence near the end of recent Jeff Tweedy concerts is for the Wilco frontman to cover a song by an artist affiliated with the local region. Last night Tweedy and his solo band performed at De Roma in Antwerp, Belgium and they covered a song by Belgian pop musician Plastic Bertrand.
Tweedy’s current European tour comes in support of his 2025 solo album, Twilight Override, which was the source of most of Tuesday’s setlist.
The cover nod to Belgium emerged during the encore. Bass player Sima Cunningham, sang lead on “Ça plane pour moi,” the hit song Plastic Bertrand released in 1977.
Tweedy encouraged the Belgian audience to sing along if they recognized “Ça plane pour moi.” Several audience members responded by joining the song’s well-known “ooh-wee-ooh” parts.
Tweedy’s European run continues tonight in the Netherlands with a show in Utrecht. Watch the performance of “Ça plane pour moi” last night in Belgium below:
