Watch Jeff Tweedy Cover ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ In New York

Following a busy week in New York City, Jeff Tweedy headed out to Long Island for a concert at the Patchogue Theatre in Patchogue, New York on Friday. The Wilco frontman slotted in a cover from Long Island’s own Blue Öyster Cult, “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” during the stop on his Twilight Override Tour.

Jeff Tweedy’s new triple LP, Twilight Override, arrived on September 26. Last week, the acclaimed singer-songwriter appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show and welcomed his Wilco bandmate Nels Cline at a concert in Brooklyn.

On Friday, Tweedy and his solo band — which includes his children Spencer Tweedy and Sammy Tweedy as well as Sima Cunningham, Macie Stewart and Liam Kazar — brought the Twilight Override Tour to Patchogue.

The trek has seen Tweedy and company performing over half of the 30 tracks on the new collection including new-found favorites such as “One Tiny Flower,” “Caught Up In The Past,” “Lou Reed Was My Babysitter” and “Enough.”

The encore kicked off with the title track off Twilight Override ahead of “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” by the Long Island-formed Blue Öyster Cult. Tweedy had to quell a bit of a brouhaha before launching into the hit off BOC’s 1976 LP, Agents Of Fortune, with Spencer Tweedy handling lead vocals. Watch below:
