Jason Isbell Performs New Album In Its Entirety At The Ryman

By Scott Bernstein Oct 26, 2015 8:10 am PDT

Singer-songwriter Jason Isbell played his third of four shows at the Ryman Auditorium in his hometown of Nashville last night. Isbell and his longtime backing band The 400 Unit kicked off Sunday’s show with a first set featuring each and every song from the recently released Something More Than Free album.

The 11-song, first set consisting of Something More Than Free tunes included the live debut of “Hudson Commodore,” the one song off the album that hadn’t been performed in public before last night. Sunday’s second set featured a mix of material from 2013’s Southeastern and songs Isbell wrote during his time in Drive-By Truckers such as “Danko/Manuel,” “Decoration Day” and “Never Gonna Change.”

Jason Isbell concludes the Ryman run tonight. A webcast is available via TourGigs.
