Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit Add August & September 2023 Tour Dates + Share ‘Cast Iron Skillet’ Single

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit expanded their already extensive 2023 Summer Tour with new dates in August and September. The band also released “Cast Iron Skillet,” the third single from their forthcoming studio album, Weathervanes.

The first of the newly confirmed tour dates is a concert at Rabbit Rabbit in Asheville, North Carolina on August 11. Isbell and his band also announced shows spanning September 8 – 16 that includes stops in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Tennessee.

Tickets for the new additions to the Weathervanes tour go on sale this Friday, April 28 at 10 a.m. local time.

Weathervanes, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit’s eighth album, arrives via Southeastern Records/Thirty Tigers on June 9. Produced by Isbell with Matt Pence providing additional production on five songs, the follow-up to 2020’s Reunions and the 2021 covers album Georgia Blue features 13 new originals.

“Cast Iron Skillet” is a beautiful acoustic song that features Jason Isbell‘s wife, Amanda Shires on fiddle. 400 Unit member Derry DeBorja provides accents on the accordion as Isbell sings masterful lyrics that paint a picture of a protagonist going through a rough stretch.
