Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit continue what has turned out to be weekly releases of live archival albums by issuing a 2016 concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Live At Merriweather Post Pavilion – Columbia, MD – 6/8/16 is available for purchase via Bandcamp. Today, Bandcamp waives its revenue share for this month’s Bandcamp Friday.
Isbell and his wife, fiddler Amanda Shires along with bassist Jimbo Hart, guitarist Sadler Vaden, drummer Chad Gamble and multi-instrumentalist Derry deBorja went heavy on material from Jason’s 2015 solo album, Something More Than Free. The band began their 16-song performance with “If It Takes A Lifetime” and “24 Frames,” the same pairing that opens the LP.
