The latest Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit live album released on Bandcamp features the band’s June 9, 2019 concert at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, Oregon. Isbell and company were joined by Jason’s former Drive-By Truckers band mate Patterson Hood for a pair of songs to end the show included on Live At Les Schwab Amphitheater – 6/9/19.
Jason Isbell was a member of Drive-By Truckers from 2001 through 2007. The band’s frontman, Patterson Hood, currently resides in Oregon so he sat-in with Isbell & The 400 Unit when they came to Bend last June. Hood emerged to join Jason, bassist Jimbo Hart, guitarist Sadler Vaden, keyboardist Derry deBorja and drummer Chad Gamble at the end of the night for takes on “Outfit” from Isbell’s time in Drive-By Truckers and a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.”
