Multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby has detailed his forthcoming new solo album Cryptologic. The release marks his debut on Blue Rose Music which will issue the LP on September 29.
Crosby worked with producer and engineer Karl Derfler during two primary recording sessions. The first occurred in early 2016 and featured Crosby meticulously recording a batch of songs while playing nearly 12 different instruments. A second session took place a few months later with The Mother Hips enlisted as Crosby’s backing band. The group’s frontman Tim Bluhm co-wrote the set of songs recorded live with Jason and the band. Acclaimed Bay Area artist Stanley Mouse created the cover art for Cryptologic, which features a total of 10 tracks.
Pre-orders begin on August 25 and a limited run of CD and vinyl editions of the album will be made available for purchase at the merch table on the road and through Crosby’s webstore.
