Jackie Greene Talks With D’Addario About His Inspirations

Singer-songwriter Jackie Greene is the latest guitarist to appear in D’Addario’s The Six Who Made Me video series. Greene discussed six sources of inspiration that have influenced his music and career with the guitar string manufacturer.
Greene talks about being a teenager and discovering a Ray Charles album within an old box of vinyl records and how the piano playing stood out to his developing ears. Jackie also elaborates on Tom Waits whom he calls his “biggest influence of all-time and the reason that I write songs.” He also touches on T.S. Eliot, Rudyard Kipling, Pablo Picasso, Bob Dylan, Alan Watts, photography and more.
