Jack White brought his No Name Tour to Toronto’s Massey Hall on Friday night, kicking off a two-show run at the storied venue. The guitarist began the show by covering “Rockin’ In The Free World” by Canadian rock ‘n’ roll legend Neil Young.

White and his bandmates – bassist Dominic Davis, drummer Patrick Keeler and keyboardist Bobby Emmett – began the show with a brief warmup jam. White and his cohorts then dropped into “Rockin’ In The Free World,” which Neil Young released on his 1989 album, Freedom.

Young has performed at Massey Hall numerous times. His 1971 solo performances were later released as the live album Live At Massey Hall 1971.

During the encore, White noted it was his first time playing Massey Hall, joking that it took him “25 years ma.” The concert ended with White’s anthemic “Seven Nation Army.”
