Legendary rock act Hot Tuna will celebrate frontman Jorma Kaukonen’s 75th birthday with a pair of shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on November 20 and 21. Today, the band has revealed more details about what to expect.
On Friday, November 20 fans will get to experience both sides of Hot Tuna. Acoustic Hot Tuna will open the show with an Electric Hot Tuna performance to close out the evening. Special guest John Hammond will join them on harmonica, while drummer Justin Guip (Levon Helm Band) will perform with Kaukonen and Jack Casady for an Electric Hot Tuna Trio experience to finish the first set. Multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell and vocalist Teresa Williams will round out the lineup for a full Electric Hot Tuna set as Friday’s second set.
On Saturday, November 21 attendees will be treated to an evening of Electric Hot Tuna. Jorma, Jack, Justin, Larry and Teresa will be joined by what is described as “a myriad of surprise guests who will perform songs and styles celebrating Jorma’s 75 years, from the current day back to Jefferson Airplane’s music.”
Tickets for both shows are available via Ticketmaster.
