Along with the music, Healing Appalachia will host speeches from those affected by addiction as well as a variety of organizations providing support and information to attendees with a free Naloxone (narcotic overdose treatment) training among offerings. Plus, Hope In The Hills will distribute the Rising Lazarus Awards for the first time in partnership with best-selling authour Beth Macy to “crucial members of the community working daily to help save lives and fight the opioid epidemic.”
“We can’t wait to gather again to bring folks together using the super-power of music to celebrate recovery month, spread empathy and build communities of healing,” stated Hope In The Hills board president Dave Lavender. The organization has distributed over $450,000 for recovery efforts in the community since last year’s Healing Appalachia fundraiser.
