Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Announces ‘Let The Music Play On’ Virtual Festival 3rd Round Lineup
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass announced the third round of artists for its Let The Music Play On virtual festival. Patty Griffin, Chuck Prophet, Shakey Graves and more will perform for the online event taking place the first weekend of October.
Los Coast and Birds of Chicago are also among the third round of performers. Along with the artist announcement, HSB also urged fans and attendees to send in “their favorite memories from years past in the form of photos, videos, stories, sketches, etc,” as per a statement, for consideration in the October virtual festival. Fans can submit their past experiences at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Founded by Warren and Chris Hellman as a present to the city of San Francisco, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass has always been a free event for the people. HSB veteran Patty Griffin spoke about the diversity of the Hardly Strictly crowds in a statement:
The free part brings this incredible diversity to the crowds, so people will see you that would never think of seeing you. Everybody is out mulling around, and they’ll hear something on a stage and they’ll just cruise down that way and suddenly they are meeting an Artist they never would have heard of. Because it’s free there’s this huge swath of humanity there, every continent on earth is represented, and largely Americans so that shows you how diverse America is and it’s really beautiful that way.
