Happy Mothers Day | New Frank Zappa Single

The JamBase staff would like to wish a very happy Mother’s Day to both our moms and every mother out there. While we’d like to think we appreciate our mothers 365 days a year, today gives us another chance to show our love for those who raised us.

The Zappa Family Trust uses Mother’s Day (ie. “Mother’s Of Invention Day”) to share “new” music from Frank Zappa and today the ZFT has released a version of “Pick Me I’m Clean” Frank and his band recorded in Munich on July 3, 1980. Zappa performs the song about a groupie along with guitarists Ike Willis and Ray White, bassist Arthur Barrow, keyboardist Tommy Mars and drummer Dave Logeman months before the track would appear on the 1981 live album Tinsel Town Rebellion.

Frank Zappa is listed as producer of the live track while Frank Filipetti mixed “Pick Me I’m Clean” recently. The track is available in both FLAC and MP3 formats via Barfko Swill.
