Happy 50th Birthday Dave Matthews: Singing With Grover On ‘Sesame Street’

Guitarist Dave Matthews celebrates his 50th birthday today. It’s uncertain what lies ahead this year for the frontman of the Dave Matthews Band as the well-established group plans to take a break from touring in 2017.
Mathews will team with his longtime cohort and current DMB member Tim Reynolds for a number of shows later this month and next month at their Dave & Tim Riviera Maya destination event. The pair also has a European Tour planned in March.
While fans of the talented performer can hopefully be tied over by the upcoming Dave & Tim shows, the DMB hiatus no doubt left some of the group’s die-hards feeling uncertain. All that is known is what Dave Matthews Band revealed last year: that they “will take a break from touring in 2017” leaving their devotees to hope that means a return to the stage in 2018 (or later).
With the long term status of the DMB in flux, for Dave’s birthday today here’s a look back at an appearance he made on the children’s television program Sesame Street in 2013. Dave plucks a banjo and sings with Grover a song about “feeling a feeling that is not a very good feeling” which some fans of DMB might be able to relate to. Watch Dave & Grover here:
