In the summer of 1992 Pearl Jam were one of the hottest acts in rock thanks to the explosion of grunge and the success of Ten. Eddie and has band mates were also establishing themselves as an impressive live act, touring relentlessly behind Ten. One of Pearl Jam’s most memorable performances from that magical summer was a slot at Holland’s Pinkpop Festival. The Seattle rockers blasted through a set heavy on the best numbers from Ten including “Jeremy,” “Even Flow,” “Alive” and “Black” as rain enveloped the concert site. Vedder tipped his hat towards the weather by teasing The Beatles’s “Rain” and the set came to a close with a bombastic cover of “Rockin’ In The Free World.” The performance was taped for television, allowing us to watch professionally-shot footage of Pearl Jam’s set.
