Hayley Williams held the third show of a three-night run on Sunday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Touring in support of her solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, the Paramore frontwoman brought out singer-songwriter Jason Isbell to join her in performing his song, “Cover Me Up.”
Williams recruited H2O frontman Toby Morse for “Parachute” at the first Hammerstein Ballroom show. The second concert in NYC saw Williams joined by Annie DiRusso and Claud on a performance of “Good Ol’ Days.” After Isbell’s night-three guest spot, actor Meghann Fahy appeared onstage with Williams for “Parachute” at the end of the show.
“I’ve dreamt of singing this song with Jason since the first time I saw him play it live, which was in like 2015 at The Ryman, back home,” Williams said while introducing Isbell.
Covered numerous times by other artists, “Cover Me Up” was written and recorded by Isbell for his 2013 solo album, Southeastern. Tap below to watch audience-captured footage of the concert:
