Gregg Allman Drops Lawsuit Against Biopic Producers

Gregg Allman had sued producers of the Midnight Rider biopic about his life as he tried to stop production of the film following the tragic death of crew member Sarah Jones. Today, Allman agreed to drop his lawsuit when his lawyers reached an out-of-court agreement with the producers according to the Associated Press.

Lawyers representing both sides have so far declined to detail the agreement that was reached, so for now the future of the biopic is still unclear. “We have come together and reasoned with one another,” Allman attorney David Long-Daniels told the judge presiding over the case according to the AP. Gregg’s attorney also told the judge that Allman remains in poor health and also stated that the singer “wanted director Randall Miller and his production company off the project because the train crash had harmed the singer’s reputation.” The train crash in question, which took Jones’s life and injured six others, took place in February.
