Gregg Allman Among Scott Sharrard & Friends Guests In New York City

Guitarist Scott Sharrard continued a Wednesday night residency at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City last night, where he was joined by other members of the Gregg Allman Band including its namesake. Sharrard was also assisted by Bill Sims, Marc Quinones and Peter Levin as part of a special night in Manhattan.

The Gregg Allman Band guitarist was aided by a core group of Eric Finland (Keys), Adam Minkoff (Bass, Vox), Moses Patrou (Drums, Vox), Diego Voglino (Drums), Reggie Pittman (Trumpet) and Kenny Brooks (Sax) on Wednesday. Guitarist Bill Sims was the evening’s first guest as he emerged in the middle of the set for “Catfish,” “Meet Me In The Morning,” “Natural Ball” and “I Shall Be Released.” Sims stayed on stage for the rest of the night as more guests flooded the stage.

Percussionist Marc Quinones and keyboardist Peter Levin, both of whom are in the Gregg Allman Band with Sharrard, added to the final five songs of the night. “8 Days On The Road” was followed by a version of “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” led by Gregg Allman on guitar and vocals. Gregg left the stage after the one song to let the ensemble finish off the set with “Big Legged Woman,” “Blues Shuffle” and “Love Like Kerosene.”

The Scott Sharrard residency at Rockwood Music Hall concludes next Wednesday night.
