Greensky Bluegrass Welcomes Guests In St. Petersburg

Michigan jamgrass act Greensky Bluegrass continued Spring Tour on Wednesday night at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida. The group’s “Casual Wednesday” performance saw them joined by a pair of guests as they treated the Florida faithful to their usual mix of clever originals and diverse covers.
GSBG kicked off the action with fan-favorite “Windshield” as part of a first set that also included covers of John Bailes’ “Send Me Your Address From Nowhere” and Talking Heads’ “Road To Nowhere” as well as originals “Casual Wednesday,” “Miss September,” “All Four” and more. Last night’s second set began with “In Control” ahead of “A Letter To Seymour” and a cover of Bob Marley’s “Small Axe.” Crew member Guido Batista added woodblock to “Fixin’ To Run” and soon thereafter singer-songwriter Joshua Davis would emerge to help out on Greensky’s “I’d Probably Kill You” and his own “Delta 88.” The second set ended with “Broke Mountain Breakdown” > “Kerosene” followed by an encore of “Money For Nothing” (Dire Straits).
