Michigan jamgrass act Greensky Bluegrass performed before a capacity crowd at the House Of Blues in New Orleans on Saturday night. Singer-songwriter Joshua Davis opens most May shows for GSBG this month and in New Orleans he came out during Greensky’s first set for “Walking The Dog” by Rufus Thomas and his own “Last Winter In The Copper Country.” The band withstood the loss of power to the p.a. towards the beginning of the second set by playing without mics while the issue was fixed.
Greensky focused on originals, but as usual had a few covers in store for their faithful followers. Saturday’s first set ended with a rare take on the Grateful Dead’s “One More Saturday Night” and the second set came to a close with a 10+ minute “Light Up Or Leave Me Alone.” The evening concluded with a pair of encores that included a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Atlantic City.” Photographer Adam McCullough captured the action at the House Of Blues on Saturday:
