A pair of musical tributes to Grateful Dead lyricist and internet pioneer John Perry Barlow were performed hours after news of Barlow’s death was announced. John Perry Barlow wrote the lyrics for dozens of Grateful Dead songs including “Cassidy,” the tune that was covered by Greensky Bluegrass in Cleveland and Eric Krasno & Co. in San Rafael, California.

Greensky Bluegrass’s “Casual Wednesday” performance took place at the House Of Blues in Cleveland. The quintet opened the evening with a gorgeous “Cassidy.” A tease-filled “Light Up Or Leave Me Alone,” guest appearances from Joshua Davis and Andy Wilson and birthday celebration for guitarist Dave Bruzza were among the other highlights. Meanwhile, Kraz rounded up some of his musical friends at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, California on Wednesday evening. Eric Krasno & Friends featuring bassist Bobby Vega, drummer Jay Lane and guitarist Ross James covered “Cassidy” as part of their set. Watch video captured by Deadheadland:
