Read a statement from Festival Director Jim Olsen:

After missing our 34th annual festival in 2020 due to COVID, Green River Festival is back for 2021. With things still in flux, we are working with local officials and monitoring the guidelines put out by the CDC to bring you a safe and fun festival experience. It is great to see things moving in a positive direction and our top priority remains the safety and health of our festival family. We are working hard and are excited to bring back live music at this beautiful time of year and to share some changes for 2021.

Since its inception in 1986, the Green River Festival has taken place on the grounds of Greenfield Community College. This year, due to the pandemic, the college is closed to the public and is unable to host the festival. We are thrilled to have a wonderful alternative site at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield to host the festival for 2021.

Green River Festival campers are already familiar with the fairgrounds, as it’s hosted our festival camping since 2016. Established in 1865, it’s among the oldest and best-preserved fairgrounds in the state, with 28 acres of lovely open space, an oval racetrack and several historic buildings. For the first time we will offer on site RV and tent camping for the entire weekend. The festival site offers improved accessibility for patrons with disabilities, including compliant restrooms, wider, paved walkways, and an ADA area for the Main Stage.

While the festival site has changed, everything that makes the Green River Festival experience special will be in place for 2021. We will continue to offer world class music on 3 stages, including a special intimate space in the historic Roundhouse. The festival will feature an incredible selection of food options with dozens of choices plus great local beer and wine. As always, we’re a family first festival, with free admission for kids 10 and under and music and activities just for them. The Maker’s Market craft fair will return with the best in handmade items from all over Western New England.

2020 tickets will be honored at this year’s festival. Tickets are on sale now via the event’s website. Check out the full initial lineup below:
