Legendary performer Graham Nash played a solo acoustic version of the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1970 single “Ohio” during a 2013 appearance on The Howard Stern Show. Nash told the story of the Neil Young-penned tune before beginning his rendition.
Graham Nash’s visit to the SiriusXM show took place on October 1, 2013. Nash appeared in support of his memoir Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer explained that Young went into the woods shortly after students were shot at Kent State University on May 4, 1970 and came back with a fully formed song. The band immediately recorded and released “Ohio” as a single despite having their own “Teach Your Children” already on the charts.
