Grace Potter will team up with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO) for a pair of orchestral concerts in her home state of Vermont next March. The shows will be held at Rutland’s Paramount Theatre on March 21 and The Flynn in Burlington on March 22.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Potter wrote on social media. “These shows are going to be unlike anything you’ve seen from me, encompassing and reimagining songs from every era of my musical life.”

The VSO initially approached Grace Potter with the idea of collaborating five or six years ago, and plans never fell into place. VSO artistic advisor and project coordinator Matt LaRocca, executive director Elise Brunelle and music director Andrew Crust revisited the concept again a year or so ago and all involved felt the timing was right according to the Burlington Free Press.

Grace Potter and Matt LaRocca will spend the next few months working out orchestral arrangements of Potter’s songs. Some covers will be played along with originals according to Andrew Crust. A report from the Rutland Herald also indicated the shows will feature “the world premiere of a new song composed specifically for this collaboration.”

Tickets for both shows go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, October 1.
