Gov’t Mule Welcomes Charlie Starr & Bernie Marsden At Ramblin’ Man Fair

Warren Haynes & Gov’t Mule completed a short European run on Sunday with an appearance at the Ramblin’ Man Fair in Maidstone, England. The quartet was joined by a pair of old friends at various points of their performance.

Gov’t Mule opened their nine-song main set with “Railroad Boy” before launching into the beloved jam vehicle “Mule.” The foursome went with another classic, “Fool’s Moon,” and then focused on material off 2017’s Revolution Come…Revolution Go. A trio of cuts from the band’s most recent album started with the title track and also included “Dreams & Songs” and the hard-hitting “Stone Cold Rage.”

Blackberry Smoke also performed at the Ramblin’ Main Fair on Sunday. Frontman Charlie Starr made his way over to the Mule set to add to The Allman Brothers Band favorite “Blue Sky.” Haynes & Co. then ended the set with “Mr. High & Mighty” and “Blind Man In The Dark.”

Former Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden often sits-in with Gov’t Mule when the band plays the U.K. Yesterday, the trend continued with Marsden emerging for the foursome’s encore. Bernie added to covers of Free’s “Heartbreaker” and “Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City” by Bobby “Blue” Bland to bring Mule’s performance to a close. Gov’t Mule opens their 2018 Summer Tour with a Dark Side Of The Mule set as part of a co-headlining show with The Avett Brothers in Wantagh, New York on July 12.
