Gov’t Mule Replaces Dickey Betts On Florida Jam 2018 Lineup

After the threat of severe weather led to a five-month postponement, organizers of this year’s Florida Jam were thrown another curveball when headliner Dickey Betts canceled. Today, organizers revealed Gov’t Mule will headline Florida Jam 2018 at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton, Florida on October 20.

Mule joins previously announced Florida Jam performers Elvin Bishop and Eric Gales on the lineup. Warren Haynes & Co. will play a 90-minute set at the event. “Without getting into drama related to Dickey Betts, we will just say that he canceled his appearance without any explanation. We take issue with that decision, especially after he agreed to the new date of October 20 from the prior May 19 rain date. Unfortunately this is not the first time Betts has canceled shows in South Florida. We placed trust in him at great expense,” reads a note explaining the change from Florida Jam organizers. “However we are more than thrilled to have the very professional, reliable and talented Gov’t Mule come in and take over as the headliner.”
