Goose shared a new song, “Your Direction,” as the latest single off their upcoming studio album, Everything Must Go. The song, written by guitarist Rick Mitarotonda and “incubating for years,” has not yet been performed in concert by the band.
“Like so many tracks on the album, it marks an arrival of sorts,” Mitarotonda said of the new single. “Something that was on a shelf for some time before finding its moment.”

Goose’s fourth studio album and first in three years, Everything Must Go will arrive on April 25 through No Coincidence Records. Produced by D. James Goodwin, Everything Must Go is Goose’s first album recorded with drummer Cotter Ellis after he took over for original drummer Ben Atkind. The 14-track album, which features staples like “Thatch,” “Animal,” “Red Bird” and “Silver Rising,” was recorded before the recent departure of percussionist Jeff Arevalo.
Mitarotonda expanded on “Your Direction,” sharing the below details about the single:
“There’s a fundamental tension in there. Between taking risks and going for something, and all the voices and forces that hold you back from doing it.”
“Ultimately, it’s fun. But I love when you can operate in multiple registers. Take something light and fun and have a bit of life and weight that gets layered in, too.”

Goose will return to the stage next month in New Orleans when they make their Jazz Fest debut on April 24. The band will then host the inaugural Viva El Gonzo destination event in San José del Cabo, Mexico May 8 – 10.
