On November 16, 2019, Goose played a standout concert at Nietzsche’s in Buffalo towards the end of a year that saw the group rise from small bars to larger venues. Today, the band released a new live album entitled 2019.11.16 Buffalo, NY featuring a newly remastered soundboard recording of the show on all streaming services with highlights assembled for a forthcoming vinyl issue.

Goose treated fans at the sold-out venue to well-jammed versions of originals “Arcadia,” “Drive” and “Slow Ready.” The band’s visit to Buffalo’s longest-serving music venue also featured a handful of covers including The Wood Brothers’ “Atlas,” Animal House favorite “Shama Lama Ding Dong,” Randy Newman’s “Short People” and an extended rendition of A-ha’s “Take On Me.”

A crowdfunding campaign for vinyl containing eights tracks worth of highlights from the show spread out over two LPs on beautiful translucent orange vinyl with three-color splatter is now underway through Bandcamp. Goose will donate a portion of proceeds directly to Nietzsche’s. Estimated delivery is May 2021 assuming the campaign is successful. Vinyl packages are only available for the next 30 days.

“Buffalo was a sure highlight for us in 2019. Like a lot of our Fall 2019 shows, it was our first time headlining in town and the show sold out way in advance, so the energy was through the roof,” said Goose multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach, who along with guitarist Rick Mitarotonda appears on the latest episode of The JamBase Podcast, in a statement. “One of my favorite things to do on that tour was survey the crowd, and that night we had people from all over the place, it was really humbling to see that people had traveled just to see us at this small bar in Buffalo, and it turned out to be an absolutely magical night.”

“Without spots like Nietzsche’s, we wouldn’t have gotten our feet off the ground. You need small venues and local scenes to get started as a band,” added Anspach. “Even if you’re not making much money per gig (which you aren’t), playing shows keeps the momentum up, the enthusiasm high, and allows you to grow musically as a band so you’ll know what you’re doing when and if you make it to larger venues. Let’s go Buffalo!”
