Out today from Slightly Stoopid is “The Upside Down,” a single made in collaboration with legendary MCs Cypress Hill's B-Real and Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli). The soulful, horn-driven track with a message is the second sample of the San Diego-based band’s first full-length album in eight years, which is set for release in 2026.
Slightly Stoopid recorded their currently untitled follow-up to 2018’s Everyday Life at Sonic Ranch studios in El Paso, Texas. The collective previously released the LP’s lead single, “Step Into The Sun,” which gave their current summer tour its name.

“The Upside Down” sees co-lead vocalists Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald joining voices with the rappers to issue out a call for unity and compassion. “We’re stoked to release ‘The Upside Down’ with hip hop legends B-Real of Cypress Hill and Chali 2na. The song has an underlying theme of more love in this world,” the band explained in a statement.
“The magnitude of music bringing us all together is real and supersedes the narrative of negativity in this life,” Slightly Stoopid added. “We are stronger as one, smoke stack it and enjoy the ride!”
Debuted live in 2022, “The Upside Down” has become a staple of Slightly Stoopid’s concerts. The group recently performed the song with B-Real and Chali 2na at the Cali Vibes Festival and then again with the latter as part of session at KROQ Sound Space in Los Angeles.
