Shakira & The Weeknd Lead Global Citizen Festival 2025 Lineup

The Weeknd and Shakira have been tapped to headline the 2025 Global Citizen Festival. The charity event presented by international advocacy organization Global Citizen returns to New York City’s Central Park for its 13th year on September 27.

Tyla, Ayra Starr and Mariah the Scientist round out the Global Citizen Festival’s 2025 lineup. Actor Hugh Jackman will serve as host. Additional artist announcements are forthcoming.

“I’m honored to headline the incredible Global Citizen Festival in Central Park this September. Music has always been my way of connecting with people and leaving a mark on the world. I can’t wait to perform, unite, and inspire action,” stated Shakira in a press release.

The festival aims to increase access to energy for one million people in Africa, protect 30 million hectares of Amazon rainforest and ensure access to learning for children worldwide. Additionally, Global Citizen will help register 40,000 New Yorkers to volunteer.

General admission tickets are free and can be earned by taking action through the Global Citizen app.
