Gimme Shelter In Place: Mapache Performs ‘To Play For All Of You’

Gimme Shelter In Place is JamBase’s new daily archival video series launched for fans who right now can’t go see live music. Canceled concerts and music festivals due to social distancing and sheltering in place in response to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic brought a halt to tours around the globe. We know nothing can truly replace seeing live music in person, but we hope the Gimme Shelter In Place live videos provide a taste of those memorable experiences.
We’re heading back to last year’s High Sierra Music Festival for another stop at the Bitchin' Kitchen campground stage. Introduced earlier in the series, the long-running Bitchin’ Kitchen provides delicious meals and intimate musical performances during HSMF, which is held annually at Plumas County Fairgrounds in Quincy, California. With hope of getting to go see live music in time for this year’s High Sierra, this Gimme Shelter In Place video features Mapache.

The California-based cosmic country duo of Sam Blasucci and Clay Finch stopped by Bitchin’ Kitchen and previewed songs from their album From Liberty Street, which they just released. Named after the Los Angeles house where they lived and recorded the album, From Liberty Street was produced by regular collaborator, Circles Around The Sun bassist Dan Horne.
Mapache’s afternoon set at Bitchin’ Kitchen included a performance of “To Play For All Of You,” one of the 14 songs on From Liberty Street. The studio version featured Horne on bass and pedal steel guitar, but at Bitchin’ Kitchen, Sam and Clay were accompanied only by a welcomed breeze that provided some relief from the blazing Northern California sun.
