Galactic, Ivan Neville and Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph teamed up for a reimagining of Galactic’s classic, “There’s Something Wrong With This Picture.” Penned by former Galactic vocalist, the late great Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet, the song originally appeared on Galactic’s 1996 debut album, Coolin’ Off.
On “There’s Something Wrong With This Picture,” Houseman “pointedly sang of the injustices and inequalities that face black Americans in the United States,” as per a statement. “In light of the current events,” bassist Robert Mercurio said, “we felt the original message of this song has a very strong relevance today.”

Drummer Stanton Moore also weighed in. “Faced with the gravity of recent events, we felt that redoing this song now would hopefully spread a message of awareness,” he said. “We believe that we need to do more to show that we stand with our Black musicians, friends and heroes against violence, injustice and inequity. We will not be silent. Black Lives Matter.”
Dedicated to Theryl ”Houseman” DeClouet, Galactic recorded the video at the legendary New Orleans club Tipitina’s, which was purchased by the band in 2018 but has been closed of late due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. “It felt good to see music being played inside the club again,” Mercurio added.
