G. Love & Special Sauce Announce New Album ‘Love Saves The Day’

Last year G. Love & Special Sauce reunited to record a studio album titled Sugar and toured heavily behind the LP. The trio of G. Love, upright bassist James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott and drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens have just announced another studio record, Love Saves The Day, which is due October 30 via Brushfire Records.

The album is said to be a return to “the classic ‘hip-hop blues’ sound first pioneered by the trio in the early ’90s.” G. Love and the gang have recruited a bevy of guest artists to contribute to Love Saves The Day including Lucinda Williams, Citizen Cope, David Hildago of Los Lobos, Ozomatli, DJ Logic, Money Mark, Zach Gill of ALO and Adam Topol. Engineer and producer Robert Carranza (Jack Johnson, Beastie Boys, Mars Volta) recorded the group live with few edits in an attempt to “capture the raw and unfiltered electricity of the tracks.”

“The music,” G. Love enthused in a press release, “jumped off the tape.” While the trio has already announced a fall tour, stay tuned for the announcement of a winter/spring tour in support of the LP.
