Furthur Kicks Off Paradise Waits In Mexico

Furthur broke up a pair of their best known song suites on Night One of Paradise Waits as “China Cat Sunflower” was performed in the first set without “I Know You Rider” and “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” kicked off Set Two with “Franklin’s Tower” serving as the encore. The band returned to the “Slipknot!” theme later in the closing stanza as a bridge between the second half of “Let It Grow” and “Playin’ In The Band.” Bob, Phil and the gang stuck to songs from the Grateful Dead’s live repertoire throughout the evening.
