Bassist Les Claypool and guitarist Sean Lennon brought their first-ever The Claypool Lennon Delirium tour to Bonnaroo earlier this month for a set that made many best of lists. The pair are joined on the road by keyboardist Mark Ramos Nishita (Beastie Boys) and drummer Paul Baldi (Fungi Band) and the quartet focuses on material from the recently released Monolith Of Phobos with a few extra treats thrown in. Recently, pro-shot video of the band’s set from Bonnaroo ’16 surfaced on YouTube.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium opened at Bonnaroo with both movements of “Cricket And The Genie.” Up next was “Breath Of A Salesman” ahead of “Up On The Roof” from Les’s Frog Brigade days. A trio of Monolith Of Phobos tracks was followed by the highlight of the set, a cover of “Astronomy Domine” by Pink Floyd the band worked into “Captain Lariat” with a verse of “Jerry Was A Racecar Driver” thrown in for good measure.” Les, Sean and the band then ended the set with The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows” and Primus’s “Southbound Pachyderm.”

The Claypool Lennon Delirium tour continues on July 21 in Seattle.
