Full Show: Steve Kimock Presents Jerry Garcia Tribute In Jamaica

One of the bands that joined Dark Star Orchestra at the recently completed Jam In The Sand IV in Jamaica was Steve Kimock‘s tribute to Jerry Garcia featuring guitarist/vocalist Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, vocalist/guitarist Leslie Mendelson, bassist Reed Mathis and drummer Jay Lane. While Kimock played plenty of Garcia tributes in 2015, he’s expected to focus on his K I M O C K project in 2016.

An audience recording of the Steve Kimock Tribute To Jerry Garcia set in Jamaica from January 22 has surfaced on Archive.org thanks to taper nico11104. The set begins with Kimock original “Tongue And Groove” ahead of songs from the Garcia live repertoire including “Like A Road,” “He Ain’t Give You None” and “That’s Alright Mama.” Kimock troupe’s set also features a cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and a gorgeous take on the Grateful Dead classic “Crazy Fingers.” Listen:
