Full Show Audio & Videos: Greensky Bluegrass Welcomes Larry Keel & Billy Strings In Columbus
By Scott Bernstein Mar 5, 2018 • 11:23 am PST

Jamgrass act Greensky Bluegrass headlined the Columbus Brewgrass Festival on Friday and Saturday at The Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio. On Saturday night, the band was joined by Billy Strings and Larry Keel for a portion of the first set.
Greensky opened their first of two sets with a cover of Traffic’s “Feelin’ Alright.” Later in the set, the band vacated the stage besides guitarist Dave Bruzza. Dave was joined by Keel and Strings for a debut cover of Doc Watson’s “Way Downtown.” Then, the rest of Greensky Bluegrass returned for a “Reuben’s Train” that also featured Larry and Billy.
Deep in the second set, Anders Beck told a story about reaching the voicemail of Grey Area Productions’ Ben Penigar and decided to name the evening’s rendition of “Broke Mountain Breakdown” as “Congratulations Caller You Have Reached The Voicemail Of Ben Penigar Breakdown.” GSBG ran into curfew issues, so they never left the stage ahead of their show-closing “Will The Circle Be Unbroken,” which served as an encore.
Anders Beck recently chatted with hosts Rob Turner and Seth Weiner for the Inside Out With Turner & Seth podcast. Beck talked with Turner and Seth about the band’s early days, his love of Phish, a pivotal Leftover Salmon show, his discovery of dobro and more. Head here for both parts of Inside Out With Turner & Seth’s interview with Anders Beck.
