Full Show Audio: Spafford Offers Up Acoustic Set, Jam Set & Electric Set In Denver

Last night Spafford played a special ‘All In’ VIP show at the Globe Hall in Denver. The intimate show was the band’s third show in The Centennial State in as many days, and saw them treat the Spaffnerds to a unique three set performance as they went acoustic, played one long jam set as well as a traditional electric one.

The Arizona-based act kicked off the night with an acoustic set that began with just guitarist Brian Moss and bassist Jordan Fairless on stage. The duo offered up a cover of “Stuck In The Middle With You,” playing the Stealers Wheel tune for the first time since September of last year. The rest of the band joined next as they ran through “Leave The Light On” and “Hollywood” before debuting a pair of tunes that the Spafford setlist website Spaffnerds have dubbed “Jordan’s Untitled Song” and “The Evil Solo” for now. “Simon & Lily,” a cover of Tears For Fears’ “Mad World” and “Remedy” closed out the unplugged portion of the evening.

The rising jam act’s second set of the night began with the band’s crew taking the stage and jamming on their instruments. Spafford eventually replaced their crew members and for the next 40+ minutes proceeded to throw down an entirely improvised set of music.

For their third set of the night the foursome served up a traditional electric set, as they worked their way through selections from the Spafford catalog with extended takes on “Walls” and a 20-minute run that featured “Dream Jam” > “Todd’s Tots.” The band brought the night to a close with a cover of JJ Cale’s “After Midnight,” which was debuted in Colorado this past September.
