Full Show Audio: Pink Talking Fish Hold 4 Special Cruise Shows
By Andy Kahn Jul 18, 2016 • 2:57 pm PDT

Over the past two weekends Pink Talking Fish held four separate boat cruise performances that saw the Pink Floyd/Talking Heads/Phish tribute act joined by a number of guests. The special performances also saw a first-ever full album re-creation set among many other highlights.
On Friday, July 8 PTF held a pair of Rocks Off Concert Cruises off the coast of New York City. The early performance included their debut complete performance of Dark Side Of The Moon marking the first time the band has dedicated an entire set to one of the bands they honor. Vocalist Elise Testone joined the rendition of “Great Gig In The Sky” and returned to augment the more typically structured second set. The subsequent late night cruise performance was augmented by the Turkuaz horn section throughout the two set show. Horn parts for favorites “Suzy Greenberg” and “Wolfman’s Brother” were charted to precisely match the Phish arrangements.
This past Saturday, July 16 PTF cruised out on Lake Champlain near Burlington, Vermont for two set performance. The show saw Seth Yacavone Band bassist Alex Budney sit-in for a version of “Houses In Motion.” Yesterday, Pink Talking Fish hit the waters off the coast of Boston for a Rock On! Concert Cruise with Tom Hamilton’s American Babies supporting the late afternoon show. Tom Hamilton joined PTF for “Pull Up The Roots” and “Young Lust.” The single set show also featured PTF bassist Eric Gould’s 4-year-old daughter Zia Mei joining in on “Quinn The Eskimo.”
An audience recording of both the early and late cruises from July 8 posted by taper Keith Litzenberger can be streamed below.
