On Sunday afternoon moe. completed the inaugural “Famoe.ly Holiday Concert” series in Port Chester, New York with an acoustic brunch performance at Garcia’s. The band went unplugged for an extra-long set in front of a capacity crowd at the bar next to The Capitol Theatre, where moe. performed the previous evening.
moe. opened the set with a trifecta of “Not Coming Down” > “Wormwood” > “Okayalright.” The band then debuted “Hey It’s Christmas,” a holiday flavored tune Floodwood had performed in the past. Guitarist Chuck Garvey led a “Shoot First” with a few lyrical changes for the season ahead of a rare acoustic “McBain.” The band proceeded to bust out “Together At Christmas” off their Season’s Greetings LP for the first time since December 12, 2013.
The set rolled on with guitarist Al Schnier fronting the group on a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers.” Up next were a handful of originals in “Nebraska,” “Chromatic Nightmare” and “Blue Eyed Son” ahead of moe.’s first “Blue Christmas” since December 8, 2012. Bassist Rob Derhak then led “Tambourine” before the band closed out the set with “Faker” > “Moth.” moe. said farewell with an acoustic take on House Of Pain’s “Jump Around” featuring Jim Loughlin as frontman.
