The String Cheese Incident‘s Bill Nershi and his wife Jilian Nershi formed a new collective with their daughter Lauren Nershi. The Nershis are set to release their debut album, Songs For The Road, on October 9 via SCI Fidelity Records and previewed the record today with the single, “I Drive Me Crazy Too.”

Bill and Jilian Nershi have operated as a duo for decades and also fronted the band Honkytonk Homeslice alongside guitarist Scott Law. With Lauren in tow, The Nershis brought aboard a bevy of ace players, referred to as “The Colorado Contingent,” to cut Songs For The Road.

“We wanted our album to have that Colorado sound,” Jilian stated.

Performing on Songs For The Road are Billy’s SCI bandmastes bassist Keith Moseley and percusionist Jason Hann. The Infamous StringdustersAndy Hall (dobro, lap steel guitar), Chris Pandolfi (banjo) and Jeremy Garrett (fiddle) also guest on the LP.

“We met The Infamous Stringdusters back when we were touring with our band Honkytonk Homeslice, and had one of the best picks of our life at Strawberry Music Festival at our campsite,” Jilian added. “With my brain injury, there are so many things I don’t remember over the years, but I have never forgotten the great music that night!”

Rounding out the recording ensemble are mandolinist Oren Paisner (Ghost Town Drifters) and Ross James (The Terrapin Family Band). The first taste from Songs For The Road is a song Lauren wrote, “I Drive Me Crazy Too,” which is about “driving not only the person you love crazy, but driving yourself crazy, too,” Lauren said.
